who do you think deserves best new artist of the year???IMAGE IS EVERYTHING

When I look at the people receiving awards for best new artist, best new album, song of the year ..blah blah blah...it makes me sick to see the people receiving them. IMAGE IS EVERYTHING! No one care's about lyrics anymore. As long as you have a fat a**, a bubble vest, and skinny jeans, you are considered the sh*t.

Not picking on the YMCMB crew, but the people considered to be at the top right now, in my opinion, don't deserve it. Why is Nicki Minaj being praised for (1) something that has already been done, (2) having a fan base of 21 and younger with 4 year olds mocking her and uploading videos on youtube, (3) not talking about sh*t in her music. Some may say I'm a hater, that's you opinion. I say pop in a Lauryn hill CD or even an Erykah Badu album and for all you simple minded people, their lyrical genius will go straight over your heads. Why? Because most people of this generation are just that dumb. They think "I'm the terminator, B*tch talk slick, I'm a have to terminate her, These little nappy headed hoes need a perminator, You my seed, I spray you with germinator" -Nicki Minaj 'Did it on em'- is the best thing said. I hear people say "oh that was hott". Those people are the one's are too dumb to know the meaning of
"Talking out your neck sayin' you're a Christian
A Muslim sleeping with the gin
Now that was the sin that did Jezebel in
Who you gon' tell when the repercussions spin
Showing off your ass 'cause you're thinking it's a trend
Girlfriend, let me break it down for you again
You know I only say it 'cause I'm truly genuine
Don't be a hardrock when you're really a gem" ~Lauryn Hill 'Doo Wop'.
I know that Lauryn Hill is not putting out albums anymore, but she still performs original tunes. Erykah badu still performs with her weird a**, but it's cool because she's not afraid to talk about intellect, society issues, and the fact we may not all be able to pay our light bills. No one care's who's the "baddest b*tch" (no disrespect Trina..get it how you live) but for the girls coming up in this generation, I feel sorry for you all. You don't have the right guidance to look up to, girlfriends calling each other b*tches like its okay. But wait a minute, when a man or someone who's not in your "clique" says it, its a problem. Shout out to all the girls that steal from rainbow and have dreams of being a video vixen, basketball wife, or celebrity hoe (aka Katt Stacks).

I'm not going to front, I did used to listen to Lil Wayne, but now I feel like he messes up a perfectly good track (like Drake's Motto). Come on now, wtf is dude even saying in he songs? What is he talking about?  I feel that artist like Common, David Banner, Nineth Wonder, BOB, Lupe, (and the list goes on) are over looked because this man wears jegging's and takes off his shirt 2 minutes after performing. What happened to making music with a message, meaning, empowerment? By the way, I love Robin Thicke's new album "Love After War", he talks romance, empowerment, society issues. You have artist like Big K.R.I.T. and Kendrick Lamar who get passed over because they're not dressed all crazy, on stage looking stupid, and actually have something to say that people can really relate to. It's sad what the young men have to look up to today. What cracks me up is that people actually think this guy "Lil Wayne", is the best

Then we have people in the industry who make some of the hottest beats with dumb lyrics. For Example, you have Gucci Mane, who looks pregnant by the way, that came out with a song called Lemonade. The beat is hott!!! (Listen to the rendition of Lemonade by BadBadNotGood HERE) But then I read the lyrics below...

Lemonade Lyrics

[Verse 1]
"My phantom sittin on sixes, no 20's in my gun
Your cutlass motor knockin, because it is a lemon
I like dem Georgia-peaches, but you look more like a lemon
These sour apple bitter b*tches, im not fuckin with em
Im truly stupid paid thats just how I feel today,
Im movin slow cause codeine syrup's in my lemonade
Im standing in the shade and im sellin lemonade
600 a pint da going rate off in the "A"
Lemonade diamond bracelet, put it in ur face (BURR)
Lemonhead diamond earrings I wore yesterday (BURR)
Im pimpin wearin linon, thats just how im chillon
Im smokin grits and sellin chickens, corvette painted lemons
GUCCI!!!"

When I hear people like Gucci Mane, OJ da Juice Man, and Waka Flocka, and Nicki; I ask myself:"Do they actually write this stuff down before they get in the studio or is it just a freestyle?".

What year do you think it is that hip hop took a turn in music? Some people say it was when NWA came out. "Hard Core Gangster rap" is what my mother calls it. What do you think????
