Phil Cook "Love, Life" Mix tape: Who is this guy???

I don't know much about Phil Cook, but I do know his "Love, Life" mix tape is definitely on repeat in my android phone. Sitting at work listening to his songs over and over again. Mellow smooth is what he comes off as. It kind of reminds me of back in the day hip hop when men weren't afraid to talk about certain issues pertaining to society, love, and emotions in a passive way. This is what Phil represents to me. I hope to see this guy's name more often because I am totally taken by his music.
